Shavon Dion Bethel, Attorney at Law in the Bahamas, announced his decision to pursue other studies. His interest in helping others pursue justice provides a catalyst for his new endeavor to help others in a ministerial capacity. His many talents and skills in the area of Family Law and Civil Litigation will enable him to serve others in a spiritual capacity.
Shavon Dion Bethel grew up in the church under his late grandfather Bishop E.A Beckford. Between the ages of 18-26 he served as Church Usher, Sunday School teacher, Men’s Ministry president. He also served in many other roles in the church, over the past 20 plus years. He has been a faithful churchgoer for many years and displayed a deep interest in advancing God’s Kingdom here on earth, believing that fully putting God first will make him a better person and able to serve his community and fellow men. Of late, he has heard and accepted the call of God, and has fully committed his life to God, to the call, and to serve the church and those disenfranchised and less fortunate.
For over seven years, Shavon Dion Bethel practiced law, fighting hard to help his clients seek justice. This was done in the face of adversity and opposition. As he has worked with the public, he realizes he can be of more significant aid to the church community by expanding his talents and abilities and beginning down a new path. Shavon Dion Bethel believes that the call that God has placed in his heart, the promises he has spoken into his life, are not going to come his way without opposition, delay, or people trying to talk him out of pursuing them. To get to the place in his life, Shavon believes, you must have a desire and a determination to hurdle over the obstacles, to outlast the opposition, to overlook the insults, and keep pursuing even if your life is in chaos, or everything around you is in crisis.
In January 2020, Shavon Dion Bethel began his advanced studies in theology and church vocation and enhancing his Christian counseling ability.
Once his ministerial studies are complete, Shavon Dion Bethel plans to unify both his legal and theology knowledge to provide professional counseling to married couples, single persons, troubled teens, people struggling with substance abuse, and people struggling with life issues.
Shavon Dion Bethel knows that life brings difficult circumstances for people. He has experienced this firsthand in his work as an Attorney at Law. He had many setbacks and challenges, yet, Shavon Dion Bethel is a firm believer in the power of prayer, positive thinking, and perseverance. When times get rough, he points his clients in the direction of positivity and forward-thinking.
